Blake Shelton is showing his support for a very important cause — by wearing a red nose.

The "Sangria" singer paid a visit to a mobile health clinic that provides free care to underprivileged children in Los Angeles in support of Red Nose Day, a U.K. based campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty all over the world. The event is coming to America for the first time this year.

"This is a poor neighborhood down here, and if it wasn't for this mobile clinic, a lot of these kids wouldn't be getting any medical attention at all," Shelton says.

On May 21, people all over the country will come together to raise funds and awareness, and have fun doing it. Individual and community fundraising events include bake sales, putting money in a swear jar, and even getting paid to soak your boss in water, all while wearing a red nose. The full day of events will culminate with a three-hour television special on NBC that will feature some of the top comedians, musicians and Hollywood stars. The special will raise funds for 12 different organizations that work to help children and young people out of poverty, both in America and globally.

"It's not just a great cause," Shelton says. "I feel like it's our duty as grown adults to do whatever we can for children. I'm a lucky guy, and I think people who are in my position or any kind of successful position, it's our job to give back and raise awareness and do whatever you can for people who need help."
