A bill that would legalize the sale of fireworks is once again making it's way through the Iowa Legislature. The Senate State Government Committee voted 10 to 5 Wednesday in support of the bill, which would allow the sale and use of commercial fireworks like firecrackers and roman candles. Current law only allows the use of novelty items like sparklers.

There is a catch, however. An amendment to the bill would give cities the right to choose whether or not to implement the bill should it become law. Opponents say that would make the law unenforceable.

What do you think? Is it time to legalize fireworks in Iowa? Or is it simply just too dangerous?
