Best and Worst Travel Times for Memorial Day Weekend

If you thought leaving on Wednesday or Thursday for Memorial Day weekend would put you ahead of the crowd, a new study says otherwise!

Late Thursday afternoon is the absolute WORST time to hit the road for your weekend getaway. 5-6pm is the hour that you should avoid completely, because regular rush hour traffic meets holiday traffic and it's a horrible combination. It's actually one of the worst traffic days of the entire YEAR.

Friday isn't too much better, though, because the traffic lasts longer throughout the day. It can start as early as 11am and go until the evening. 3-4pm is the worst time to be on the road today, so if you can put off leaving until 7pm, you're in the clear!

Be safe out on the roads this weekend, and remember to NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!
