Belmont Stakes Wrap-Up

Oh... we were so close to having a Triple Crown Winner at the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. California Chrome fell short in his Triple Crown bid and co-owner Steve Coburn was not happy about it. That is a story all in itself as he felt his horse was held back intentionally by the other rival Jockey's. So now we have to wait another year to see if we'll have a Triple Crown Winner in 2015.

The last Triple Crown Winner was back in 1978 when Affirmed nipped Alydar in all 3 races for a very exciting year in Horse Racing.

Thinking back on 1978, these were the #1 songs on the radio at that time. On the Country Charts, Willie Nelson sat at the Top of the Charts with "Georgia on my Mind." On the Pop Music Scene... Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack was King and the Bee Gees "Night Fever" was #1 for 8 weeks... through all 3 of the Triple Crown Races.
