When you think of the top stars of country music the last quarter-century, Brad Paisley's name may not be one that quickly comes to mind. The numbers say it should.

In the 25 year existence of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, Brad Paisley is firmly entrenched in the Top 10 for most number one songs. Here's the list of artists and the number of times each has reached the pinnacle of the chart:

  1. Tim McGraw (27)
  2. Alan Jackson (26)
  3. George Strait (26)
  4. Kenny Chesney (23)
  5. Brooks & Dunn (20)
  6. Toby Keith (20)
  7. Brad Paisley (19)
  8. Garth Brooks (18)
  9. Blake Shelton (18)
  10. Keith Urban (17)

It should also be noted that Brad's career didn't begin until 1999. Some of the artists ahead of him had a head start. Brad hit #1 the first time in '99, with "He Didn't Have to Be." In addition to all those #1 hits, you can add 13 additional Top 10 songs to Brad's illustrious career. He certainly won't be lacking for hit songs to perform when he brings his "Country Nation World Tour" to Cedar Rapids on January 30th.
