Appearance of Colorful Downtown Visitors Explained

If  you find yourself driving downtown lately and asking "Who are these people?" you are not alone. 

And neither are we. These colorful characters are popping up all over town.

Of course, we recognize the "American Gothic" couple but you may not recall them being so...colorful...

It's all in celebration of artist Grant Wood's 125th Birthday, with whimsical interpretations of his famous pair being placed all around Linn County including here in Cedar Rapids.
