Amy Schumer Strips Down for Calendar Photo Shoot

Posted to Twitter with the caption, "Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman. Thank you @annieleibovitz," Amy Schumer posed in just her undies for a photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz. Now, you're probably thinking, "Who cares? Celebrities do photo shoots all the time!" Well, not like this. Amy did the unthinkable and *GASP* allowed us to see her un-retouched body, rolls and all.

My initial reaction to this was pure admiration. Here, staring me in the face, is a woman with the exact same body type as me. NEVER in my life have I seen a "model" whose body so closely resembles mine. She's not obese, she's not unhealthy, she's just not thin. I panic every time I even THINK about putting on a bikini, and here's a woman who unapologetically bares it all. You can call her "disgusting" and "fat" and whatever other judgemental comment you please, but to me she is an inspiration. I work out 5 days a week. I eat healthy foods on a daily basis (I'm eating yogurt as I type this blog). And yet, I see these rolls every. Single. Day. Coming from someone who has struggled with their self-confidence for a very long time, I can't express how much I appreciate Amy for such a seemingly simple photo.

I think that any woman who has ever struggled with their "imperfections" can take away a positive message from this picture. And Amy's comment on the photo is absolutely perfect: “I never felt more beautiful.”
