An ambulance out of the Quad Cities rolled over while traveling on Interstate 80 Sunday afternoon. It was carrying a patient at the time of the crash. The accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon near the West Branch exit on I-80 westbound.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service says that two crew members were taking a patient to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the time of rollover. The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of the ambulance likely lost control of the vehicle due to an icy spot on the roadway. The vehicle ended up on its roof.

All three people in the vehicle were taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City for their injuries. The crew members have since been released.
