We are now just about a week away from the NewBo Music Festival, coming up August 8th.  Hopefully by now you've grabbed your tickets and are just as excited as we are to see the headliners Young the Giant and Allen Stone.  Maybe you've even heard that we're giving you the chance to meet them. It's true, we've got your chance to meet both headliners.  We're calling it the KDAT / NewBo Music Fest Superfan. Coming up Tuesday and Thursday as we lead up to the concert, join Gregg Scharnau at Cedar Rapids area Hawkeye Convenience stores. You can pick up your $5 off coupons, get 25 cent fountain drinks, and register to win tickets to the show and those meet and greets.  You can also register online for the chance to win here.

However, if you're going to meet Allen, it probably be best to get to know him better first.  For example, he's 28, from Washington, and his latest single "Freedom" which we hope you're loving, is off his brand new 3rd album, "Radius", his major label debut. His biggest inspiration came at 15, as he was turned on to Stevie Wonder, which was his game changer. The single, Freedom, is about losing his ego, the thing that weighs him down. And the first song he ever fell in love with was a spiritual hymn by Horatio Spafford called "It Is Well With My Soul." It's no wonder he's classified as an R&B aritist, though he prefers "hippie with soul." He's also got a pretty amazing list of artists he'd like to collaborate with.

And that's just the start.  Check out this interview he recently did with All Access Music. Check it out and get to know him better.  Then register to meet him, and make sure you join us at the NewBo Music Festival.  Trust us, you don't want to miss this amazing performer.
