I've worn glasses since I was 2 years old. It wasn't a huge surprise when my kids suddenly began needing them as well. It seems like I passed on my wonderful eyesight to them too. Chase wore glasses for a while but now has transitioned to contacts. Carly still wears glasses and who knows, she might do contacts someday too. But my youngest Cayleigh never needed help seeing. Until this week.

Cayleigh came to us a couple weeks ago and said that sometimes when she was reading words, it was hard to see them and she had to really focus. Warning bells went off. So we got her into our eye doctor and sure enough. She needed glasses. I think I was affected more by the news than she was. I think she actually felt left out being the only one without glasses! The good news is that her prescription is very minor, and most kids actually outgrow her kind of vision problem as they mature.

So this week, Cayleigh got to do what her brother and sister have done many times already. She picked out glasses. I think she looks great! Welcome to the club kid!
