When you look at the resume of Riley Smith, it's easy to forget where he got his start. Smith features hit shows like True Blood, Nashville, and Frequency on his IMDB bio. But he is also quick to point out where he got his start --Eastern Iowa. Smith stopped by the KHAK studios to talk more about his charity event this weekend and about his acting and music career.

Riley Smith grew up on a farm just north of Marion and graduated from Alburnett High School in 1997. After being discovered at a local talent show at the old Westdale Mall, Smith was off to New York and eventually Hollywood! Smith is in town for his event benefit the local youth, The Riley Smith Youth Music Festival this Saturday (7/15) at NewBo. Here's a sneak peek at what you're going to hear on Saturday.

The video for Riley's song "I'm on Fire" is one of the Top 10 videos in country music this week. Watch it HERE.
