It was a great week for the Iowa men's basketball team in no small part due to the efforts of Aaron White, who today received accolades from the conference. Still, there was something shocking about the announcement.

Aaron White was named Big Ten Player of the Week earlier today for the FIRST time in his career. That was shocking to me. According to the University of Iowa Sports Information Department, Aaron was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times during his first season with Iowa. This week is one that Aaron, and Hawkeye fans won't forget anytime soon.

During Iowa's victories over Illinois and Penn State this past week, White averaged 25 points per game, 11.5 rebounds, and was 21-24 at the free throw line. In his last three games, including the February 22nd win at Nebraska, White has averaged 22.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, is 20 of 34 from the field, and 5 of 7 from 3-point range.

The Hawks have won four straight Big Ten games for the first time since 2006 and try for their 20th victory of the season Tuesday night at Indiana. Tip-off is at 6:04 on ESPN.
