A Meet and Greet First for Brain

I've been in country radio for over 16 years. I've met tons of artists and attended lots of meet and greets. My wife Holly and I had the pleasure of meeting Kacey Musgraves on Saturday night in Davenport, and something happened at the meet and greet that I've never seen before.

Usually when you get to meet an artist, they have someone to take pictures. Then they will post them to the artist's website for you to download at a later date. While we were lined up to meet Kacey, we noticed that she too had a photographer there to snap our pictures. But after the first person had their picture taken with Kacey, she asked the singer is they could take a selfie with her cell phone. Kacey agreed and told everyone to take their phones out. We were ALL doing selfies! How cool is that? I couldn't believe it. Not only do I get to meet and take a picture with one of my favorite artists, but it's a selfie!

I've never seen an artist do something like that before. Who knows...I may never see it again! It was a backstage moment that I'll never forget!
