The upcoming weekend in Iowa promises to be frigid, but I'll take that over living on the East coast. Another snowstorm is heading their way, and it'll bring more than just snow.

High temperatures in Cedar Rapids this weekend won't be high at all. On Valentine's Day, our temps will actually fall throughout the day... to around 5 above by late-afternoon. We're well below zero Saturday night and Sunday brings double digits, only if we're lucky.

Meanwhile in Boston, Massachusetts... they broke the all-time record for snowfall in February yesterday. Yeah, on February 12th. They've had more than 41-and-a-half inches of the white stuff so far this month & could see another foot this weekend. Believe it or not, Boston is only the 4th snowiest city so far this winter. Erie (Pennsylvania), Buffalo (New York), and Worchester (Massachusetts) have all gotten more with Worchester being the only city already over the 90-inch mark. [via The Washington Post]

Winter Storm Neptune, as this weekend's storm is known, is expected to include hurricane-force winds and could drop as much as two more feet of snow on some cities. Considering all the snow already on the ground, a truly dangerous weekend could be ahead.

Early next week, the East coast faces the possibility of even more snow. Yeah, I'll take the cold but definitely feel for those who will be facing more shoveling, snow blowing, and the feeling that winter will never end. We remember it well. It was only a few years ago that Cedar Rapids had one of it's snowiest winter's ever. That was just the beginning of the trouble for us, as one of our city's worst floods would come in the spring.
