You always hear stories of people calling 911 for strange reasons, but when this operator in North Carolina got an unusual call, she went above and beyond to resolve the issue.

81-year-old Clarence Blackmon has been in a rehab facility for the past 6 months after having a stroke, and he has also been battling cancer. He had just come home from the hospital, when he realized he did not have any food in the house. Not knowing what else to do, Clarence called 911 and said, "I can't do anything. I can't go anywhere. I can't get out of my damn chair." He added, "I'm not broken, I'm not bleeding, and I'm not in crisis. I just want somebody to help me buy some food."

911 operator Marilyn Hinson could've ended the call, but instead she showed up at Clarence's doorstep with bags of groceries and stayed to make him some sandwiches. She told reporters, "I've been hungry. A lot of people can't say that, but I can, and I can't stand for anyone to be hungry." She then gave Clarence her number and told him to call if he ever needs anything.

This story restores my faith in humanity a little bit! We need more people like Marilyn Hinson is this world.

This is your friendly reminder to do something nice for someone else today, no matter how small it may seem!
