The Insane Inflatable 5K, presented by GoDaddy is a month and a half away, happening on June 20-21. Many of you are getting ready for this fun event by practicing your running, stretching and jumping.

Whether I'm getting ready for a race or playing basketball, here's a few tips on what NOT to do the day of the event.

Don't eat tacos. You'll be burping these bad boys up and trust me, that's not the taste you want in your mouth while competing. Hot wings can fall under this category too. I've made this mistake before.

Don't eat pasta the day of the event. Pasta feels like a big old lump in my stomach and the last thing you want is to carry around an extra lump in your stomach.

Drink plenty of water. I do this on race day and pretty much every day -- I've been staying away from sugary drinks. Every once in a while I will have something sweet on a hot day at the race track, but I just have a few drinks and return back to water. On race day, it's not uncommon for me to sweat off as much as 5-11 lbs.
