The Anamosa Chamber of Commerce has announced that Tuesday, June 12, a 25-foot sculpture celebrating the historic painting will be constructed in the city. The 3D sculpture, done by American artist Seward Johnson, will be installed in downtown Anamosa, off Main Street. The sculpture and the process of putting it in place will both be something to see.

Starting at around 9 a.m. on June 12, a crane will begin the work of placing the sculpture. Work is expected to conclude the following day.

If you think the below sculpture looks familiar, perhaps you've seen it on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. It's also been in Mesa, Arizona, Key West Florida, and Elkhart, Indiana. Now, it's heading to Grant Wood's hometown, where it will be for the rest of the year. During that time, the city is also planning to highlight its Grant Wood collection and host a number of Grant Wood-themed programs. All great reasons to take a drive to Jones County to celebrate a very famous eastern Iowan and what the Whitney Museum of Art calls "perhaps the most recognizable painting in 20th-century American art."
