Country music's men were not messing around this year! Out of the fierce competition -- nominees for Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards included Dierks BentleyLuke CombsThomas RhettChris Stapleton and Keith Urban -- Stapleton walked away the victor on Wednesday night (Nov. 14).

Martina McBride and Lara Spencer presented the award to Stapleton-- his third of the night. He dedicated it to his four children (and one on the way) and wife Morgane Stapleton, who appears on a number of his songs and joined him in performance alongside Mavis Staples and others tonight. After a long few months of touring, Stapleton was grateful for the recognition and thanked his entire support system.

Stapleton's "Broken Halos" is a huge tearjerker -- and was a big hit during this past year. The singer wrote the song alongside Mike Henderson after one of Stapleton's friends passed away from cancer. The pair's tune took home the trophy for Best Country Song at the 2018 Grammy Awards, as well as Song of the Year and Single of the Year at tonight's CMA Awards.
