It's not often that people who fish get great news in November, but here's some. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be releasing 2,000 trout into the lake near the boat ramp at Prairie Park Fishery this Friday morning at 10.

The fishery at 2125 Otis Road Southeast is open daily from 6 am until dusk and if you're interested in fishing, you must have a valid license and state trout stamp. You can purchase the stamp at local sporting retailers who sell fishing licenses. Considering Friday's high is forecast to be in the upper 20's, I also strongly recommend long underwear, a good stocking cap and gloves, and any other necessary winter "go-to" gear.

Happy fishing and may the wind be out of the west because as the old saying goes, "Wind out of the east, fish bite the least – wind out of the west, fish bite the best."
